Queensway sports stadium in Wrexham played host to over 400 school children in a 'Give and Gain' day last week. The day was part of the national Business In The Community (BITC) scheme which encourages businesses to send employees to assist in a day of volunteering.
On this occasion, with the Rugby League World Cup coming to Wrexham in the summer, the North Wales Crusaders Rugby League team also offered their help in order to teach the children some basic Rugby skills.
We were lucky enough to be invited along due to our close relationship with the Crusaders, and it was a fantastic spectacle to witness. Great credit must be given to all of the businesses who supplied volunteers to make the day a success, along with Wrexham County Borough Council and the North Wales Crusaders. It was brilliant to see such an event thriving in the middle of Wrexham.
